Overview: This is the generic outline plan for all Newt (Naked European Walking Tour) hikes. The basic idea is to meet for a week of naked hiking in the European Alps. The precise route, and meeting point, is *always* undecided until nearer the time, and for more year-specific information you need to see the next Newt (2012) page.
Route: Various day walks are planned, from light to reasonably strenous, so as to encourage lighter walkers to also join, throughout the week. The route, or stages, will be through the central European Alps. Sometimes accommodation will be primarily using bivouacs and campsites, at others we will be staying in a fixed base, or possibly going from mountain hut to mountain hut. Carrying our equipment with us will minimize our dependency on finding available space en-route, although using a fixed base makes the day packs lighter and the walking more fun. The precise route is variable depending on local circumstances, including group capabilities, weather etc.
Naked/Clothed: Anyone is welcome to join for a part of a day, or for the entire walk, dressed or undressed, however their time, commitment or inclination allows. The preferred intention is to do all walks completely naked except for essential walking boots, sun hats and rucksacks. The exception to this is when going through towns and villages, when walking on tarmac and, of course, when in a gasthof or restaurant. This is the nearest thing we get to a Newt rule, if we're on tarmac or someone's private property we tend to get dressed although, as Captain Barbarossa says: "it's more of a guideline really", because it's always a personal choice at all times. If anyone is uncertain as to dress code, or how to join in, please do not hesitate to send me an email for clarification - the aim is to make this easy for people of all ages, both sexes, and most inclinations, to join.
Media: This is not a private/secret nudist club walk. Please don't be motivated to come along by the photos on these pages and then complain that you don't want your photo taken, anyone coming on a Newt implicitly accepts the idea that we will be taking photos of these adventures, and we will then publish them to encourage others, like you, to do likewise. Of course if you are by nature photo-phobic and still want to come along then the best I can politely suggest is that you hide behind a tree whenever a camera appears. Naturally we always take into consideration such points as "this is my good side", "please don't do a close-up of the pimple on my nose", "no photos when I'm bending over, please", and similar reasonable requests.
Summary: Finally, please note that this is not a protest march, this is merely a walk through a fantastic chunk of our environment with less encumbarage than most people consider necessary.

See you there :-)
