Hygenic reasons are often trotted out for shaving the genitalia, but this is probably not the only reason, naturally. Probably a little exhibitionism and voyeurism are incorporated into the whole thing too, even if only subconsciously. So what? Here is a very interesting article by the mainstream German newspaper Die Zeit , (which means "The Time" or "The Times" in German), on the whole smoothie experience, particularly in relation to the support shaving your genitalia has amongst the modern youth. Can you imagine a similar article, with illustration, appearing in, say, The Times in the UK, or The New York Times in the USA, for instance. These are indeed interesting times in which we live ;-)
