Nudity is often used in Theatre, to express notions of purity and innoccence.
In early Greek plays the men, we are told, were often naked playing opposite
clothed women, or men dressed as women. (If they weren't dressed, it would
kind of give the game away.) Modern (?) musicals such as "Hair", and more
operatic works, use naked human bodies as pure forms of expression. Daniel
Radcliffe (of Harry Potter fame) has recently played the lead in "Equus", where
he is naked in front of a theatre full of interested (clothed) females - I have
a clip of it somewhere. The lengths one must go to for art's sake...
