Interested in self sufficiency, sustainability, peace with justice,personal freedom. Went through the original hippie era but drifted away into socialist politics. In recent years I have managed to re-establish myself to some extent in counter-culture circles with respect to communities and modern day hippies known as Rainbow Family. I have attended three Rainbow Gatherings and fitted in well. I like the Rainbow Gathering particularly with regard to it attracting young people, interested in communal living, and alternative ideas but last but not least with the joy of life. Rainbow Gatherings are clothes optional events. I have an association with an informal community, but live elsewhere, where I for several years have helped in their very large permaculture style garden. In the summer time it is possible to work naked. I also have an association with a well known community in the Coromandel, Wilderland, which in its heyday was known for nudity. I am part of the Free Beach Group in NZ which promotes public nudity on beaches and supports other kinds of nudity such as at festivals and gatherings and have written or helped write articles on Rainbow Gatherings and communities for their newsletter.
