How to deal with different types of stains on your vinyl floor

You’d be astonished at how simple it is to maintain a sparkling vinyl floor. In most circumstances, a simple Vinyl floor mop would be a sufficient tool. However, there are likely spots you don’t clean as frequently, such as behind the freezer or under the couches, where they will collect more dirt than others. In any event, there is always a way to thoroughly clean them. Actually, there are several options. For further insight, consider the following cases.

Stubborn scuffs

Though the likelihood of your vinyl floor scuff is quite low, it still happens. If you wish to remove a scuff, you may just use a brush to wipe it off a scuff, or an exfoliator prepared with baking soda and simple water. Scuffs on vinyl flooring can be removed with anything as mild as a few drops of baby oil.

Ink, lipstick, and hair dye stains

To remove liquid and paste-like stains from vinyl, use isopropyl alcohol (or rubbing alcohol). It’s a rather straightforward procedure. Simply spritz the isopropyl alcohol onto the obstinate spot and wipe it away. It may take a few tries, and it may need to sit on the surface for a while to truly soak in, but it should work (results may vary depending on the type of vinyl).

Crayon and paint stains

Paint and markers are relatively easy to remove from vinyl. The wear layer of vinyl flooring can tolerate a lot, and it is unlikely to absorb chemicals like crayons, markers, or paint. Simply use a semi-dull putty knife to remove it. A dull or plastic putty spatula lowers the danger of gouging or removing some of the worn layers from the planks. (Please exercise caution even with semi-dull items!)

If you have a large area to wash, simply spray a goo remover on it, let it remain for a few minutes, and then wipe it away with a damp sponge. You can use one of the common mops for Vinyl floors to clean the surface afterward.

Food stains

Food stains, especially flowing stains like ketchup, tend to accumulate in gaps. They’re highly acidic, so even if they don’t get into the cracks, their acidity has the ability to eat through vinyl’s outer surface. Of course, the best thing you can do is to keep food from falling. If you can’t, it is best that you clean it up right away. If you don’t see it right away since it’s concealed behind the toilet (how did that get there???!!!), you can use a hardwood and tile cleaning solution as you’d use on actual tile or hardwood. This is fine for vinyl because it is still a sensitive but strong chemical that will remove stains. The cleaner should be sprayed onto the surface (after mopping) and spread/mopped using a microfiber mop head. It will aid in getting the cleaner into the deeper grooves of the record. However, remember to read and follow the manufacturer’s directions for your individual cleaner.
