Friston Forest & the Long Man

On Sunday 10th November, Roger Coupe, Richard Collins and I walked from the Long Man of Wilmington, skirting the top of Friston Forest, walking a curve through the forest and returning via Lullington Pond back via Deep Dean to the Long Man car park.

The route was about 7 miles and we had stops for lunch, drinks and photoshoots. We were naked for almost the whole walk apart from a few short bursts when the wind became uncomfortably chilly.

We met or passed at least 2 dozen people, one of whom was quite abusive, to the point where it was rather comical. Everyone else engaged us where, in my opinion, it is quite possible they may not have, had we been dressed. That is something in the order of a 96% success rate.

The next walk will of course depend on the weather, often as tough an adversary as the Public Order Act 1986!
